The 11 Ruhr.CSD food stands in the wings. The new non-profit organization ruhr pride eV organized the two-day event located in the “area” and would be the first and 2nd of August to Ruhr.CSD Food 2014 to invite all open-hearted people. The demonstration, called the ” buddy Parade “of the coal mines Prinzsessinen & Busters launches on Saturday by 13 clock at the main station and pulls through the pedestrian zone to the arrival at Kennedy space against 14 clock. The motto of this year louder “Liebe.Leben. Queer in the area! ” . Behind this is the requirement of acceptance and tolerance in colorful Ruhr area for gays, lesbians and trans people.
Also in the program is an ecumenical service , a gay and lesbian film festival and the offical Ruhr.CSD party with a special edition of the legendary “Gay Happening” . The dance floor is located the central street festival at Kennedy Square, just 2 minutes away on the flat market and presents House & Pop with DJ Marauder .
On the main stage will be on Saturday evening next to the minute of silence of AIDS , simultaneously rising in the hundreds of balloons in the sky, different artists expected as Grace Royal, Pro You, The Terrortucken, Eike Sax, Prince chaos, Betty Heller and “The little bitch ” (Rose Pride Cover).
What is the CSD?
Christopher Street Day (CSD) is a global day of celebration, commemoration and demonstration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The name Christopher Street Day is usually only found in Germany and Switzerland. In Austria, the move is called Rainbow Parade, in English and Latin countries mostly of Gay Pride (= “gay pride”) or Pride Parades is spoken.
What is demonstrated?
It is celebrated and demonstrated for the rights of these groups, as well as against discrimination and exclusion.
Where is the CSD in Germany?
In almost every major city in Germany today there is a CSD, the largest in Köln (Cologne Pride) and Berlin. The Ruhr.CSD in food is now the largest CSD in the Ruhr. The parades and demonstrations during the CSD now represent similar attractions represent, such as carnivals, or the much more recent techno parades. In Cologne, the CSD had in 2002 (as Euro Pride) with 1.2 million participants (participants and spectators) attracted more visitors for the first time in the city, as the Rose Monday, making it the largest CSD in Europe.

Ruhr.CSD in food?
Surrounded by rainbow flags the festival at the Kennedy space offers a mix of fun and education, colorful musical program and political content. The tenth “Ruhr.CSD” took place in 2013 and presented an information road with 25 information booths of clubs and groups from throughout the region and is now the largest CSD in the Ruhr. The Ruhr.CSD was presented by essenandersrum eV Essen club acted in cooperation with the AIDS Food and FELS (Forum Essen lesbians and gays) to lift the over the last six years of accumulated event together.
