Pride on the Plaza – Sante Fe, New Mexico
Our mission is building the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, raising political awareness and encouraging social action.
Sante Fe Pride 2014
The Human Rights Alliance was Founded in 1993 in response to the defeat of Senate Bill 91, civil rights legislation for lesbians and gay men. Rallying around the enthusiasm of our grassroots crusade, local activists joined together to create this non-profit organization whose primary goal was to end discrimination of all kinds. The Alliance seeks to build coalitions with groups who will work for the civil rights of all New Mexicans.
Current Goals
- Build community through communication
- Respond to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender needs
- Pass human and civil rights legislation
- Honor and value diversity
- Build and nourish meaningful relationships with our allies
- Change people’s hearts and minds about the GLBT community
- Communicate the with GLBT community of the Santa Fe area
- Increase participation, as well as implement, monitor and evaluate HRA programs
PRIDE on the PLAZA
Saturday, June 28. Parade starts at 11 AM and runs along Old Santa Fe Trail from the Roundhouse to the Plaza. Entertainment begins on the Plaza around 12 noon. View map here
- 7:30am – Start set up on Plaza: Tents up for dressing rooms directly behind the bandstand
- 9:00am – Parade registration and line up at Capital (PERA parking lot)
- Live remote with HONEY HARRIS – Plaza Bandstand 2hrs
- Vendors set up on Lincoln n San Francisco streets - 11:00am – DJ Swanee gets the PARTY STARTED! Bandstand 45mins
- Parade kicks off from Capital headed to Plaza - 11:45am – Welcome: President of HRA
