Since then, the Hans-Sachs-Straße festival has become an integral part of the gay and lesbian summer and is traditionally held on the Saturday after the Assumption instead. The street party every year had larger inlet and burst after a few years at the seams. For this reason, since 2000 the Ickstattstraße belongs to the party zone.  In total each year to celebrate up to 10,000 people at a time.

The Hans-Sachs-Straße festival celebrates Russia’s Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Community

“Love for all” is this year’s motto of our birthday party on Saturday, August 16. At least 13 clock we invite you back to the Hans-Sachs and Ickstattstraße. Among all the countries to which we dedicate our festival each year in 2014 and Russia and the Ukraine in the series – in solidarity with the LGBT communities locally.

The country has introduced a law against so-called Gay Propaganda two years ago and thus made any positive, yes only neutral reporting about homosexuality impossible. All the persecuted and the oppressed – even in the Ukraine, where in the first reading, a similar law was passed – we dedicate this year our birthday party. On the Hans-Sachs-Straße hard Munich’s LGBT community shows on July 16 in solidarity; we celebrate freedom and tolerance.

Ambassador of love in this year Pollapönk; the colorful Icelandic group occurred in May at the Euro Vision Song Contest (ESC) in Copenhagen and now enjoys cult status among ESC fans. “We can not as a representative in the fight for equality no more committed people desire as Pollapönk” says Sabine Schäfer, organized with Johannes Schick, the Hans-Sachs-Straße feast for the sub. “Their music is exemplary.”

Dancing colors of love

For months, the two prepare with their team before the street festival, which will lead to the road on Saturday after the Assumption again to the ten thousand visitors. At 15 clock it officially goes wrong with a combative speech, our managing director Christian Schultze. After that, DJ and live acts go on the big stage in front of Ickstattstraße and the stage of the NY.Club at the other end of the Hans-Sachs-Straße. Always in focus: love and tolerance, freedom and equality; Pollapönk mixed vigorously with. As always at eight comes the Seelig moment. Blüttenblätter fall from the windows in the street. Shortly before midnight, then dance all guests embraced one last Emperor waltz.

On the Hans-Sachs and Ickstattstraße hit on August 16, again a number of hosts their tents; in numerous information booths, groups and associations seek to attract the visitors * inside. To the delight of many invites pollapönk the day after the Hans-Sachs-Straße hard on the roof terrace of the German Oak Restaurant. From 12 clock they are ready.
