Simmons College Supports Pride

United States of Pride, SocialWork@Simmons

Hi Seasons of Pride team,

First and foremost thank you for all that you do in empowering the LGBT community and consistently publishing resources and tools to bring the community together. I am writing on behalf of Simmons College and we are proud of our commitment to embracing diversity and inclusivity. Our students come from all over the United States and we created a piece that spotlights many of the major LGBT pride festivals occurring across the nation this summer. The graphic is titled: “The United States of Pride.”

In an effort to continue to spread the message of pride and raise awareness around LGBT history, we would be honored if you could share this tool as part of your Pride Calendar page!

In Solidarity,

SocialWork@Simmons

In 1904, Simmons became the first college to offer training and education to clinical social workers. Today, that tradition of innovation continues with our online Master of Social Work (MSW) program, SocialWork@Simmons. As Simmons School of Social Work (SSW) enters its second century, we are excited to be at the forefront of innovations taking place in clinical social work education, bringing our knowledge and experience to students nationwide with our online MSW program.

At Simmons, student outcomes are paramount. We take a hands-on approach to online learning, combining a rigorous social work education with a collaborative online environment. SocialWork@Simmons students complete the same intensive coursework as on-campus students, participate in field placements in or near their own communities, and benefit from a lifetime of support from colleagues, professors, and SSW.

SocialWork@Simmons is different than other online learning experiences. Through a state-of-the-art learning platform, we offer small online classes taught live by SSW faculty. Our faculty also work with curriculum designers to create immersive video coursework, which students complete on their own schedule between live classes. This coursework features case studies and interactive lectures designed to build clinical expertise and skills for social work practice. Coursework also facilitates discussion in live classes, bringing theory to life and preparing students for work in the field.

Like our on-campus program, our online MSW blends classes and experience in the field to actively prepare students for the challenges of practice. Our field placement team works with students to find meaningful clinical internships. In addition, we support students from the moment they inquire about the program — with dedicated support throughout the admissions process, during the program, and after graduation.
