This summer Schuele is something very special: a parade through the streets of Mainz and the stage program on the Gutenbergplatz proposes Schwuguntia eV a new chapter as the organizer of summer sultriness on.

Sommerschwüle CSD Mainz 2014

Motto of the summer sultriness 2014 “The Whole Nine Yards – make with the acceptance of society.” We want to draw attention to the many areas still existing discrimination of different sexual and gender identities, as well as raise awareness of same-sex lifestyles.

So it has failed again in its current contract, the grand coalition to strengthen the rights of gays and lesbians as well as promote equal rights in marriage and adoption rights. For this reason, Germany lags in the full recognition of same-sex marriage as well as the Community Adoption Law still behind countries like South Africa, Uruguay, Brazil and the conservative dominated countries in Europe such as Spain, Portugal and England.

Also, in some countries against the observed increase of laws against homosexuals and transgender is not taken sufficient position. Thus, Russia prohibits any kind of homosexual “propaganda” under the guise of the “welfare of the child” and in Uganda not only homosexual acts are punishable, but also those who show the lesbians and gays not immediately.

Also in Germany the full acceptance of homosexual and transgender lifestyles is a distant memory, as in dealing with outings (especially in sports) and the discussion of the petition in Baden-Württemberg shows among others. And did you know that “gay” in schoolyards now is the most common term of abuse?

We thus demand a full recognition of the diversity of sexual and gender identities. Only way to create social acceptance and non-discriminatory and respectful interaction with each other!
