WeHo Seeks Teen Rep for Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board
The Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board was founded in 1989 to address matters relating to lesbian and gay residents, including education, empowerment, equal rights and hate crime prevention. The board currently has ten members — five women and five men. The board makes recommendations to the West Hollywood City Council regarding programs, policies or ordinances of benefit to the city’s lesbian and gay residents.
The City Council may appoint a young person to this non-voting position for a one-year term. There is no specific deadline for such an appointment, but the city suggests that applications be submitted as soon as possible.
A two-page downloadable application form (PDF) is available online. Paper applications are also available at West Hollywood City Hall, 8300 Santa Monica Blvd. at Sweetzer. Completed forms may be returned to the City Clerk’s office.
