2014 marks the 18th year for the festival and this year’s festival runs from the 19th of July until the 3rd of August with a 16 day festival of events.
The theme for this year is Sports and Commonwealth, it’s your chance to highlight the good work that some Commonwealth countries do in supporting its LGBT Community, highlighting the abuses that LGBT people face in other Commonwealth countries or just to show your sporty side or love for a sport star, its your chance to be yourself and show your support to LGBT people across the Commonwealth.
This year organisers have pulled out all the stops and the main event will featured performances from Marcus Collins, Lucy Spraggan, Amelia Lily, Ruth Lorenzo and Heather Peace and Angie Brown.
The parade assembly time is 9:30am and the parade will start at 10am and finish at the event site at 11:30 where those attending the event will be able to exchange their tickets and gain access to the event site and those who don’t will be able to leave the site.
The march will once again be led by the mighty Sheboom and with a Theme of Sports and Commonwealth is your chance to show your support to the LGBT communities across the Commonwealth, Pride officials will have limited placards, commonwealth nation flags and rainbow flags to help you make a statement on the day
