News reports are coming in that actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in New York

The actor was just 46 and was found in his Manhattan apartment.
In an interview with The Guardian in 2006– the late actor talked about how people though that he was gay saying:
‘Because I played a couple of gay men,’ he reasons. ‘If I wasn’t in Boogie Nights or I wasn’t in Flawless, people wouldn’t think that. Also in The Talented Mr Ripley, I was playing a very heterosexual man, but he was a dandy. I would read sometimes about people thinking I was gay and I would think, “Oh, that’s so great!” I take it as a compliment.’ (At his Bafta acceptance speech later in the day he made a special play of thanking his ‘very hot’ girlfriend, with whom he recently had a baby.)
In the 2005 Oscars he won best actor for his portrayal of Truman Capote.
The Daily Mail is reporting that ‘The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Hoffman was discovered in the bathroom on the 4th floor with a needle sticking out of his arm’
He was reportedly found by a screenwriter who immediately contacted 911. The New York Police Department is investigating.

Oh no, I’ve just heard the news of the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. What a blow to the industry & most of all of course to his family…’
