Oxford readies itself for the biggest party of the year.

The Oxford Pride Parade Route

The Oxford Pride Parade will take place in central Oxford on Saturday 7 June 2014.

The Parade meets at Ship Street (just off Cornmarket) before setting off at 12 noon along Cornmarket, Queen Street, New Road, and through Oxford Castle before taking in Paradise Street, Norfolk Street, and arriving at Oxpens field for around 1pm.

The Stage Line Up is:

15:00 Thames Valley Gay Chorus

15:50 Matt Postie

16:40 Practically Pink

17:20 Rhapsody

There is still time to buy VIP tickets which are just £5.50. The Pride which was inspired by a street party celebrating the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002 has grown into a fun filled, day long event, with after parties at the two gay pubs – The Jolly Farmers and The Castle Tavern.

This year’s headlining act is Jo O’Meara, former lead singer of S Club Seven, who had hits such as S Club Party, Reach and Have You Ever Loved Somebody in the late 90s and early 00s.
