Fenway Health – Boston, MA
This is a per diem position, working on an as-needed basis. We are looking for a qualified RN to provide per diem support as part of a multidisciplinary team in a stimulating primary care setting.
Duties include: providing telephone triage and case management, documenting patient activity in the electronic medical record, providing wound care, administering medications/vaccines, and participating in team meetings.
Per Diem Registered Nurse
- MA RN license required
- BLS certification required
- IV insertion/phlebotomy skills required
- Minimum 2 years experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
- BSN, experience with HIV patients (e.g., ANAC certification) and electronic medical records, as well as a commitment to community health and an interest in LGBT health are all strongly preferred.
- Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required
- Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred

The Fenway Institute operates the nation’s first community-based HIV research program, which has been conducting long-term epidemiological research since 1985. Fenway is one of eight sites in the US that was selected by the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases to recruit participants for the first clinical trials of an HIV vaccine. In 2007, The Fenway Institute was awarded a federal population center grant from the National Institutes of Health, representing the first time a community-based organization has been selected for this type of work. Working with the American College of Physicians, they also published the nation’s first medical textbook focused on LGBT people The Fenway Guide to LGBT Health. In 2013, the LGBT Aging Project became a program of The Fenway Institute.
Fenway Health is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. All physicians hold faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School. Research affiliations include Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Brown University Medical School.
