HIV Testing & Administrative Specialist
Full-time position available for a self-motivated, dynamic, and outgoing individual to join our Prevention Programs team. Responsibilities include conducting outreach activities; educating men who have sex with men and other community members about HIV/STD prevention, including safer sex; collecting blood via venipuncture for HIV and syphilis; actively recruiting and developing volunteers; conducting bathhouse and other program activities; entering data; and performing office-related and other job functions as required. Successful candidates should be able to interact with the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community, handle a moderate to heavy workload, and stand for long periods of time, indoors or outdoors; be detail-oriented and lift 25-50 lbs. with ease; keep flexible hours (late evenings and weekends are required); and establish and maintain successful and productive working relationships with peers, diverse people, the community, and businesses. Experience with PC equipment, office software (including Microsoft Office products), other computer applications, and office machines is required. Possess reliable transportation and able to travel within Dallas County as well as other areas, as needed (mileage reimbursed). Qualification and experience in FCT and venipuncture is preferred but will train the right candidate. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college and experience with LGBT community preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Benefits included. No calls, please.
