RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):- Development, drafting and publication of a wide range of written articles and content blog articles, periodic opinion editorials, biweekly news communications, and other communications to support LGBT HealthLink.
- He/she is also a key member of the Communications team, with responsibility for a high awareness of matters and issues which could or should be addressed by LGBT HealthLink.
- Subjects will include:
- Healthcare reform and health policy;
- Tobacco and Cancer;
- Research that supports health policy;
- Collaborative projects within and outside of the organization.

Primary responsibilities:
- Develop individual relations with state health department and LGBT community center stakeholders, to convince them to adopt policies which further LGBT wellness
- Research and preparing compelling, thought provoking articles regarding health policy and healthcare topics for varied distribution points (social media, blog, etc.)
- Fact-finding; content and copy editing; proofreading.
- Content development for advertising, marketing and promotional materials for LGBT HealthLink, as well as articles, presentations; slide decks, leave-behind collateral, and newsletters.
- Ability to understand and translate related matters into captivating narratives, which should include features benefits, objectives, etc.
- Ability to analyze data and interpret it for public consumption while maintaining a proper tone (clinical, policy, etc.).
- Assist with the writing of presentations. Candidate must be able to collaborate in a professional environment and team setting.
- Writing and editing of PPT presentations and other materials to be used by directors for training and presentations on developed content.
- Annotation of content with primary references to support all claims, according to client regulatory submission requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated knowledge of major public health resources useful to education and adoption of enhanced health policies
- Must demonstrate excellent writing skills including ability to produce concise summaries of technical points;
- Bachelor’s degree required, MPH degree or three years of public health experience required
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Must demonstrate a high level of analytical capability;
- Superior communications skills, both written and oral;
- Excellent research and project management skills;
- A demonstrated track record of providing rapid response materials with accuracy;
- Ability to get along with a diverse group of professionals in a highly dynamic atmosphere;
- Ability to develop relationships long distance
- Experience with cross-cultural working environments
- Computer literate; Excel and PowerPoint experience a must;
- Social media literacy
- Flexibility and adaptability required.
