Cologne Pride 2014
The Cologne’s Christopher Street Day (CSD) is the joint demonstration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people and their girlfriends, friends and all who support him. Our goals remain the full legal equality and full social recognition.
But the ColognePride also expresses self-confidence and joy. The fact that we encounter and demonstrate together, makes the success, the strength and the political and social impact of the CSD.
The ColognePride forms since 2003, the framework for a two-week program around the CSD Cologne
With the motto “We are” only “Pink Carnival” mobilized the ColognePride the city in the fight against discrimination of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.
Together we want to set an example against homophobic populists who make under the guise of freedom of the legal and social equality of sexual minorities in question. Room slogans such as “This is one still allowed to say” or “At some point, is sometimes enough!” Have nothing to do with tolerant attitude, but are characteristics of a hypocritical Neohomophobie .
This right noise encountered the Cologne Pride confident and above all with humor . The campaign slogan in 2014 makes use of the ur-Kölsch utopia of the carnival . Since time immemorial, here the relationships are turned upside down, removed social barriers and gender roles overridden. Also the Cologne Pride is an expression of a strong identification with our city and throughout the region. The annual demonstration is far more than “just a pink carnival” as the parade is referred to in the media happy. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people are a valuable part of this city and its traditions.
