Tasked with assisting in work that ensures the interests, purpose and mission of the WWH are clearly articulated in all internal and external communications, including media, newsletters, publications, signage and websites.

Primary Essential Duties

• Assist with advertising and communication campaigns, including drafting copy and proofreading it for accuracy and adherence to purpose and mission.
• Research proactive and reactive media opportunities.
• Assist with maintaining WWH website, blog, and social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
• Monitor and analyze relevant coverage to assist with communications planning.
• Maintain comprehensive media list.
• Assist with development of editorial calendar.
• Assist with putting on events that bring exposure to our expertise on various health and legal issues.
• Assist with development of visuals for WWH collateral materials.
• Working knowledge of print and production and vendor management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Talents Required

• College students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a communications related field, or recent graduates.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and other issues impacting the LGBT community or a desire to learn more.
• Strong strategic, critical thinking and analysis skills.
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
• Graphic design experience highly preferred, but not required.
