The Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for corporate fundraising for all GLAAD events and programs. The incumbent will cultivate relationships between organizations that align well with GLAAD’s mission to develop mutually productive partnerships and obtain major funding commitments. The Corporate Relations Manager’s primary responsibilities are securing and managing corporate relations, supervising at least one intern, maintaining corporate databases and creating/editing all supporting corporate relations documents and materials. This position may be based in our New York or Los Angeles office and will be responsible for corporate fundraising on both the national and regional level.Corporate Relations Manager GLAAD
Job Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed corporate revenue goals of $3 million.
- Create proposals/decks and secure corporate partnerships by researching and cultivating corporate prospects to achieve the goal of $3 million, ranging from $5,000-$250,000 with a special emphasis on new $5,000-$30,000 partners – both cash and in-kind services (GLAAD Media Awards, GLAAD Galas, Leadership Council Events and Individual Giving Events and sponsorships supporting GLAAD’s programmatic work).
- Implement and monitor GLAAD’s corporate relations program including record keeping, research, solicitation and donor stewardship.
- Serve as the primary liaison for confirmed corporate relationships and ensure they receive the benefits as outlined in their partnership package
- Work with the Strategic Marketing, Events, Communications and Programs team to maximize sponsor brand visibility through activations, auction items, gift bags, table placements and guest lists, working with the Special Events team to execute all aspects on-site at events.
- Deliver timely reports of sponsorship benefits and visibility following each event to corporate sponsors.
- Create and monitor revenue/expense budget and develop specific strategies and action steps to achieve revenue/expense goals as they relate to corporate fundraising.
- Follow up regularly on pending corporate partner proposals via in-person meetings, telephone and email.
- Oversee the maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database to track corporate pledges and payments.
- Ensure that the Corporate Relations intern fulfill their duties.
- Work with GLAAD Leadership team, Annual Giving team, Board, Leadership Council, and volunteer corporate committees to recruit and solicit new corporate relationships to achieve revenue goals.
- Track success and present regular reporting to Leadership Team
- Research, pitch and follow up on potential corporate relationships related to event honorees and nominees as they relate to events.
- Work with Communications team to ensure all marketing materials (eblasts, evites, program books, tickets, step and repeat banners, banners, posters, etc.) have the correct corporate listings/logos for every event based on partner benefits.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings and other meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Required : College degree or equivalent.
- Required : 3+ years of proven track record working with and cultivating relationships with major corporate partners and closing partnerships of at least $25,000.
- Required: Willingness to travel, work alternative work schedules as needed, including nights/weekends a must.
- Required: Superior organization, communications, analytical and logistics skills. A proven concern for detail, organization, and timely follow through. Tenacious commitment to achievement of agreed-upon targets.
- Superior project management skills, including managing projects with multiple and competing deadlines and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently, to work under supervision and to work in a team and goal oriented environment.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, donor database software background, specifically Raiser’s Edge, and project management software, specifically Basecamp.
- Public speaking experience, positive attitude and sense of humor desired.
- Willingness to pitch in and help with projects across departments.
- Understanding of history and current issues concerning the representation of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities in the media.
