Under the supervision of the Donor Services Manager, the temp-to-hire role of Donor Services Coordinator is responsible for implementing a wide range of donor relation services including accepting and acknowledging donations, entering data into The Raiser’s Edge, and maintaining the integrity of the donor database. The Donor Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service to GLAAD donors as well as Development and other departments as needed.
Donor Services Coordinator
- Bachelor’s degree required and/or at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Commitment to GLAAD’s mission and to achieving results.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a timely manner and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines, acute eye for detail and desire to be a self-starter.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate drive, flexibility and the ability to work productively under multiple deadlines, where unanticipated external and internal events can shift priorities.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Experience managing research and data.
- Ability to use great discretion at all times.

- Confident, professional phone manner for dealing with donors.
- Strong MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as effective online research skills and knowledge of media-oriented sites.
- Understanding of and/or interest in history and current issues concerning the full equality of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

Responsibilities
- Maintain donor database (Raiser’s Edge), updating constituent contact information (creating, updating and merging records; notes; storing information, etc.)
- Run daily recurring gift batch, ensuring all gifts are coded correctly.
- Open and sort all gifts that come in via mail.
- Complete any matching gift requests.
- Preparing a variety of reports including contact information, giving history and prospect research using constituency information database.
- Research contact information for matching gift companies to update in RE.
- Assist DSM as needed with tracking of GLAAD Board Member giving and pledges.
- Generate timely donor acknowledgement letters, monthly pledge renewals letters, year-end tax letters and general decline letters
- Enter all gifts, pledges and event ticket and table buys with proper coding
- Provide administrative and clerical support including but not limited to: drafting, editing and proofreading correspondence and proposals; general word processing and spreadsheet support: heavy data entry, mailings, filing, copying, and faxing.
- Follow up daily on member correspondence via email, phone, and postal mail.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the city as necessary, including nationwide travel as necessary;
- Availability to work off-hours shifts or events as required;
- Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds;
Supervision
The Donor Services Coordinator reports to the Donor Services Manager in Los Angeles. Notes- This position is full-time, temp-to-hire.
