- Outreach to target populations identified by DPH including men who have sex with men and trans women
- Conduct outreach on evenings or weekends at LGBT+ events, bars, and public sex environments
- Inform individuals of services and make connections for testing and other prevention services
- Distribute condoms and information
- Educate about HIV/STD risks and prevention
- Make PrEP referrals and referrals to other relevant health resources
- Complete paperwork such as outreach tracking forms, record into electronic record keeping software
- Provide syringe services and Overdose Prevention services as needed during office hours
- Attend mandatory DPH trainings and other trainings ongoing
- Attend staff meetings and report on activities to supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
- Gloucester and surrounding communities such as Beverly, Essex, Salem, Ipswich
- Gay bars and events on the North Shore
- 6-8 hours per week
- Two 3-4 hours shifts per week
- One weekend day per week
- Travel required
- Qualifications:
- Existing knowledge and relationships in the North Shore gay/LGBT+ community and resources strongly preferred
- Car + valid driver’s license required
- Outgoing, compassionate, with strong communication and people skills
- Comfort and ability to talk about sex and sexual health without judgment
- Competency with computers preferred
- Experience with the Harm Reduction Model, HIV services or prevention a plus
