Working with the Development Director and Strategic Partnerships & Development Manager, the Sponsorship Associate is responsible for the successful implementation of Frameline’s Festival Sponsorship program for Frameline39: San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival (June 18 – 28, 2015), as detailed below. The position also works closely with Festival staff to develop and execute the Festival.

Frameline’s mission is to change the world through the power of queer cinema. As a media arts non-profit, Frameline’s programs connect filmmakers and audiences in San Francisco and around the world. Frameline’s integrated programs provide critical funding for emerging LGBTQ filmmakers, reach hundreds of thousands with a collection of more than 250 films distributed nationally, inspire thousands of students through Youth In Motion, which sends free films and curricula to schools across the nation, and creates an international stage for the world’s best queer film through the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival and additional screenings and cinematic events.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally, and externally with professionals at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, create new sponsor leads, and follow-through to solidify sponsor deals.
  • Previous sales experience and cold calling a plus.
  • Strong understanding of current local economic environment – knowledge of large and small businesses and opportunities for development.
  • Strong understanding of external marketing to LGBTQ demographic.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work within a budget while maximizing low/no-cost resources.
  • Fluency in Macintosh-based applications including MS Office, Filemaker Pro and social media.
  • Familiarity with event/film festival environment.
  • Responsive to unpredictable workflow and hours.
  • Flexible, creative and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of humor and positive outlook.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in collaboration with Development team to ensure successful delivery of Festival sponsorship program.
  • Manage day-to-day in-house aspects of in-kind Festival sponsorship program, including keeping all records up-to-date.
  • Research, solicit and monitor in-kind Festival sponsorships including: hotels, catering, operational, beverage/liquor, hospitality, event and media partnerships. Most of these categories have specific quota requirements.
  • Ensure, in collaboration with Development team, all components of sponsorship agreements are met including: program guide advertising, logo placement, screening assignments, signage, slide show, sponsor press releases, promotions at screenings & events.
  • Work in conjunction with Development team to ensure successful delivery of sponsor recognition on all Festival marketing materials – including street promotion, posters, print media advertising, website and social media.
  • In collaboration with Festival Programming, Event Staff and Development team manage sponsor related and associated Festival events including, but not limited to: Festival Staff Party, Sponsor Lunch and Festival Lounge.
  • Manage delivery of all sponsor in-kind product, including F&B, sponsor promotional items and hospitality certificates.
  • Manage and deliver in collaboration with Development team, all sponsor-related hospitality packages, including ticket, passes and invitation packages, and special theatre seating requirements.
  • Coordinate delivery of all in-kind media sponsorships, including social media, print advertising, TV, radio and online promotion.
  • Develop and maintain sponsorship database and files.
  • Oversee Program Guide advertising sales.
  • Oversee venue delivery of sponsor promotion materials prior to and during Festival.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Film Festival staff.
  • Complete post-Film Festival written wrap report.
  • Other duties as assigned by Strategic Partnerships & Development Manager.
