SF’s LGBT Center offers a host of workshops and programs supporting Trans Awareness Week

Trans Awareness Week
Join us for Trans Awareness Week (November 14-20) when individuals and organizations across the country will participate to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming (GNC) people, and address the issues these communities face. If you can’t make the events, follow us on social media using #transwk and #TDoR @TEEISF. Please post and share how you are taking action next week and beyond. Share your support by getting a I Lv Trans People T-shirt! Also, join us at Out at Work this Monday with PG&E and Wednesday at Twitter for a talk with Susan Stryker. The final day of Trans Awareness Week is the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-trans violence. This year we are changing the event up with a dynamic TPOC lead panel about ending the violence against trans people. Instead of reading of the names, we will be sharing a moving film tribute. The event will be live streaming and if you want to be in community please join us Trans: Thrive at 3pm. (Details below!)
Finally, if your missed CeCe McDonald and Joshua Allen at the Black Excellence Tour check out the full video

The mission of the SF LGBT Center is to connect our diverse community to opportunities, resources and each other to achieve our vision of a stronger, healthier, and more equitable world for LGBT people and our allies. When visitors arrive at the Center, they find free services like career counseling, job fairs, computer lab, social activities, mentorships, youth meals, daycare, various workshops and much more. Here they can connect with other LGBT people and organize to secure our equal rights. The Center is truly the heart, home and hands of the San Francisco LGBT community.
