When I was growing up, I longed to go to a camp, but there was just one problem: there wasn’t one for me. Considering I didn’t even have the language or a safer space to explore gender and sexuality, and that my family wasn’t exactly supportive initially when I came out to them, a camp for LGBTQ youth was out of the question.
