Ariadne’s After-Dark Cabaret is a night of decadent, glamorous fun featuring song, dance, burlesque, boylesque and plenty of laughs throughout. It is hosted by the ever glamorous Ariadne the Greek WAG (the alter-ego of Alyssa Kyria) whose trademark wit and general fabulosity leap out at you from the very start.

The perfect host for a late-night cabaret, Ariadne is assisted by a deliciously chiselled pair of “Wag Hags”, Carlos and Stephane (Nick Stiletto and Kris Milnes), who provide laughs, banter and plenty of eye-candy. Both are accomplished dancers and perform a varied routine throughout the evening.
Her guests are an exciting selection from the cream of the UK cabaret circuit. Anna the Hulagan is fiery and feathery, displaying great skill with the hoop whilst performing a glittery and glamorous strip tease. Nick Stiletto performs his boylesque act with all the eroticism and seductive movement of traditional burlesque, including a delightful feather-fan dance and a cheeky twist to tassel-twirling. By contrast, but equally delightful, Ruby Deshabille provides a traditional striptease dance, demonstrating some fancy footwork and a clear understanding of the art of seduction.
Delightfully, Alyssa also performs one of her other characters, A Woman Scorned, who regales the audience with a hilarious (and scary) ‘Lady in Red’ parody. It was also pleasing to see Ariadne and her Wag Hags return for a parody of Chicago’s ‘All That Jazz’ as well as the boys-only dance routine to Sabrina’s ‘Boys, Boys, Boys’ – possibly even steamier than Sabrina’s original video.
The evening’s headline act is one of the cabaret scene’s rising stars. It is difficult to go anywhere on the circuit without hearing her name, and seeing her act proves why. Tina Turner Tea Lady skilfully blends some of the Queen of Rock’s best-loved songs with original and witty lyrics, providing a surprising insight into the mind of a faded star who now devotes her life to tea.
This is one of the very best cabaret evenings I have seen for a long time. It is varied, cheeky and great, great fun with a host who is, quite simply, fabulous.
